The wind wasn't cooperating today but I did get 4 Halloween gourds finished, except for the protective spray coating. But it's definitely too windy out there to spray. But I want to show you anyway, in case you want me to save any for a reserved Etsy listing.

I saw the ghost idea on Pinterest, but came up with the cat punkins all on my own.
My two latest knitting videos are about I-cord. I-cord can be used as ties on hats, belts, packages, and also as a decorative feature on hats and clothing. It's portable and easy and you can stock up on it to have on hand for knitted, crocheted and woven projects. You can use any medium to large double pointed knitting needle or even circular needles, though that's a bit more tedious. You can use worsted weight yarn, novelty yarns, fuzzy yarns, cotton, wool, or whatever looks interesting. Have fun making your faux dreads.
First thing this morning I grabbed my canvasses and my paints and headed outdoors. I spent much of the day painting. And I'll be able to post them on Deviant Art now that I started using that again. The first one is an idea I got from a flash of a TV show. It was hanging over a bed in one of those home remodeling shows.
The second painting is of succulents growing in my backyard, So I'm calling it Succulents at Twilight. I wish the sun hadn't gone down at 5:30 PM. I had to stop painting for the night. It was too chilly for one thing and too dark for another. It felt good to be painting again.
I'm supposed to be working on my Nanowrimo novel, so of course all I want to do is paint. I've done four paintings in two days to try out my new watercolor crayons. I like the little girl in the snow the best. It's called 'Snow Day'. Next time I'll tape the paper down to a board first so it won't curl as much. These were all painted with a combination of watercolor crayons, watercolor pencils and white acrylic paint. They dry quickly. They are in a folk art or naive style. Ironically, once you've learned to paint in art classes, it's harder to go back and paint in a primitive style and throw proportions to the wind.
Each day I work a bit on my freestyle crochet. It's very portable. Just a small tote back, five or six leftover balls of yarn, 2 hooks, and some scissors and I can go for hours. When I get home I take the motifs I already made and put them in the box, add new yarn if I'm running low, and I'm good to go for the next trip to a park or a waiting room. Easy peasy.
