Knitting and Crocheting Made Monday Go By Fast

Today I decided to make a day-in-the-life style video for Vloggerheads. The day is not over so I'm still working on it. My camera batteries are about to die too.

On the way to Apple Valley I worked on the orange toddler dress I'm knitting. I can't decide if I want to make it striped, or make it all orange and then use duplicate stitch to make it look like a jack-o-lantern.

Then tonight in the last bits of sunlight, I worked on my grey free-style crochet necklace. Honestly I think I have enough bits to do the necklace already, but it is just so much fun making the little parts, I can't seem to stop. I need to find a flat surface somewhere to lay it all out and figure out how to turn it into a statement necklace.  And I have yet to sew the faux pearls and beads to it. I was going to start the beadwork tonight but once again I've managed to lose the beading needles. I didn't want to waste the last 30 minutes of sunlight looking for a needle.

Dinner is in the oven and I'm kinda dragging, so I'm just going to sit here and blog and update my Twitter and such.

Please leave comments. Otherwise I feel like I'm kinda wasting my time here.

Hobby Lobby and McCalls

McCalls 6694
McCalls 6697

Lucky for me the Hobby Lobby I've been dying to go to was near the DMV that I had to go to. It's not just the first time I ever went to that Hobby Lobby, its the first time I went to any Hobby Lobby. I was bummed because I only had a few dollars to spend but I wasn't going to miss my chance.  I figured my boyfriend would be ready to leave in five minutes flat.  He left me in the fabric dept. while he went to find a bathroom. And then I saw that the McCalls patterns were on sale for .99.  So a few pages into the new catalog I spotted 2 dress patterns I liked and had them in my hot little hands before he got back.Who knows when I'll get to go again or if I'll have any money so I didn't want to miss my chance.

Vintage Dress

My family dropped by to take me out to breakfast so I took more photos.  I lent my daughter my rhinestone setter because she was about to buy a Bedazzler. Her vintage dress is adorable.  She'd love for me or someone to sew her some more. I wish I'd get done moving already so I could start sewing again.

MuuMuu Monday

I'm sewing a muumuu for a Flickr group I started called MuuMuu Monday. If you'd like to join muumuu Monday. I got the pattern on Sunday. And I cut it out today. There were a lot of pieces to cut out! It has 3 tiers and each tier piece has to be cut out three times. The pocket pieces four times. The tie two times. I cut out the bodice front and back but I need to find a solid fabric to line it with. I also have to find my elastic stash as the dress has elastic in 2 spots. Being taller than average I also added 2 1/2" to the bottom tier because I want the dress to come down to my ankles. I hope I have the courage to wear such a bright and gaudy dress when I get it finished.
