Gourd Basket or Hat or Lampshade

Well I just finished the weaving part of my gourd basket and found long nosed pliers to be quite the useful tool for pulling reeds through tight spots. And while that's drying, I finished closing the top of the caxixi too. Now I just have to wrap the handle with some type of cordage like linen or artificial sinew.

Now comes the fun part with the gourd basket where I can add trim and maybe color it or do woodburning on it or something. My right brain is working on it. I think it would make a great sunhat or lampshade too.
