never quite understood what a garter was for, but I can understand the difficulty in finding stuff that fits! most of my pants are tore up at the bottom cause everything is too long, and I'm to lazy to hem them up! lol.
Garters are used to hold things up, like stockings or sleeves. Nowadays they are mostly decorative.
