Why do I want to Tat?

My mom loved to tat. She passed away of lung cancer. As far as I know I'm the only one of her four daughters that has even tried to tat. My older sister might have, but she may be dead too. So I feel I want to carry on the legacy from my mother. Sadly, her estate was dispatched haphazardly and I didn't get a single sample of any of her tatting or needlework. I remember she liked the Workbasket magazine because it always had at least one tatting pattern per issue.

Here is a tatting blog: http://tattingchic.blogspot.com/ in case you don't know what tatting is.

Thank you for posting about tatting! How is your tatting progressing? Would love to see a sample, even if it is just a broken snippet.
(I had plenty of those for a long, long time!)

Need a sounding board or just a sympathetic ear? I've been a shuttle tatter since 1980 and I learned from my grandmother. I'm the only family member she was able to teach to tat, though I don't know why.

Best wishes for health and prosperity in 2009!

Thanks for reminding me to tat. I see my tatting shuttles floating around from time to time. I need to make time to tat.

Happy and prosperous New Year to you too. Go 2009!
