Projects Everywhere
While cleaning I came across so many projects I had forgotten I even made. I filled up box after box with stuffed toys, hats, jewelry, beaded book marks and so on. Makes me sad that I could never find buyers for them. It seems like now-a-days everyone is an artist. I do know people that make a living at it. So I'm not saying it's impossible.

shelters may take some of your creations off your hands. I am not saying that everything should go, but I find that if I take a few things a year there, I feel better about my stash of hand made goodies.
Selling is a hard market as you say. You need something special that sets you apart from the rest of them.
Have you ever thought about teaching as a way to make money and get some exposure?

If I just wanted to give away all my supply costs and time invested, Goodwill is right across the street. But I can't really justify thousands of dollars spent on supplies and many hours of labor just to get zero return on my investment.
As far as teaching goes, I've been teaching for years. The last place I taught was Michaels where I was teaching knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, beading, and so on. The problem with teaching is I was actually losing money. If no one comes to class, that time in my day is wasted as I sit there and no one shows up. When the economy is tight, fewer and fewer people want to pay class fees. And making all those samples for potential students is also time consuming and costly. So I'm not sure what I will do with my pile of treasure.
